Sydney Boot Camp Instructor Shares 10 Travel Tips You Must Know Before Going on Vacation (part 2)
Continued from yesterday….
6. Take supplements with you.
Whenever I go away I take a stack of supplement with me, my travel bag literally rattles as I’m going through the airport. Firstly I’d never go anywhere with my juice plus – I haven’t missed taking them for a single day in over 3 years. I also take fish oils supplements, spirulina and a protein powder to ensure my body has all the amino acids to maintain my lean muscle mass.
7. Don’t worry if you slip up once in a while.
Most of our boot camp clients are training 6 weeks at a time with maybe a week off in between, that’s around 7 boot camps per year.
If you can keep do things right 90% of the time whilst your at home it doesn’t matter if you’re not 100% perfect while your away. Use the time to relax and invigorate so you come back feeling refreshed and ready to go.
8. Plan your reward meals in advance.
One of the best things about traveling is trying the local delicacies – it’s part of living the good life and is fun to try new and different foods.
But you must plan them in advance so you do not over indulge, we have found with our boot camp clients that 1-2 meals per week is enough to maintain your results. Don’t stuff your self but just eat till your satisfied.
9. Get a massage and continue to stretch.
It’s often easy to forget the small things we do to keep our bodies flexible and pain free, but is it’s essential to continue to do daily stretching to keep your muscles and joints healthy.
Depending on where you’re traveling to you can often get an hour long massage for as little as 3-4 dollars – what better way to spend an afternoon than getting pampered for the price of a coffee.
10. Stay active for at least 30-60 minutes daily.
Don’t use a vacation as an excuse to do nothing and become a sloth. There’s usually plenty of activity to do while your away from walking, kayaking, swimming, snorkeling to doing some local trips and excursions. Walk wherever possible and maintain your activity levels to stop the onset of weight gain and a bulging waistline.
These 10 travel tips have worked for me and hopefully they’ll work for you, so you can return from your trip with more souvenirs other than a double chin and extra blubber ☺
