Wiki = City to Surf (or City2Surf) is a popular road running event held annually in Sydney, Australia covering a 14 kilometres (8.7 mile) course. The event is a "fun run" as well as a race, attracting both serious runners and community participants who can choose to run or to walk.

The 14 km route taken by the participants passes through the suburbs of Kings Cross, Rushcutters Bay, Double Bay, Rose Bay, Vaucluse, Dover Heights and Bondi Beach. The most difficult part of the course is "Heartbreak Hill" at the halfway mark, a 2km long steep ascent from Rose Bay to Vaucluse along New South Head Road.

    Hey guys,

Was super impressed with everyone last week at our first week of run group! We got some great times for the time trial so I'm looking forward to the improvements we'll see when we do it again in a few weeks.

We all had a little 4k run to do this week for homework so I'll be marking you off as you've done it (cause I KNOW you've all done it, right). Our focus is as much on the mid-week runs as it is our saturday training so we can get the most out of our program and be ready for City-to-Surf.

If you're a newbie or a bit nervous about starting running put your worries aside, the benefit to a 16 week program means we'll start slow and build up! Bring your water bottle, fun pants (eg. the pants you like to have fun in… but not the same fun we had at Bondi this week, I promise) and be prepared to work hard!

If you have any questions please contact me, but only for questions to do with run group… I stopped taking questions about relationships, lost dogs and creepy neighbours last week. Sorry guys.

Can't wait to see you all tomorrow!

    Love Ali x

Also, keep a look out here as your time trial results will be up soon!

    Hi group!

Arh, yes its true… I'll miss you all this weekend. Just checking in that everyone has done their 7k run for the week? Libby will be asking :) and will let you all know about next weeks run.

    See you in a week!

RUUUNNNNN GRRROOUUPPPP I had the BEST time with you guys today - such a fit and fun bunch, was smiling for hours afterwards, thank you for bringing such great energy and letting me share your training sesh!

Remember your homework for this week - 8km run in roughly 50mins… if you want to amp it up a bit, try adding a few intervals into your run, even if it's just for a km or so.

Good luck with your C2S prep and I'll hopefully see you all at boot camp soon.

What's the homework for this week Ali ?

  9. Ali

    Hi guys,

This week homework is the 9k run, if you can squeeze it in also a 2k sprint.

  10. Ali

Ok team, I mentioned it at run group on saturday that we're going to have a different meeting spot this week. We're meeting at the top of cooper park stairs in Bellevue Hill (YIPEE… I hear you all now). Turn off Old Sth Head Rd onto Victoria st and almost straight away you will find the meeting spot (on the left). Anyway major concerns let me know asap! Again, my number is 0415 595 054. Hopefully get a chance to remind you all at bootcamp!

    Can't wait!!!!!! :)

    Great can hardly wait!! xp

  12. Ali

Yes, guys the 10k run again this week. We're going to start trying to get the times quicker. Meeting at the usual place in centennial park this week and then we'll change it up again the week after.
We all have to give Warwick a huge pat on the back for showing up to training over the long week end. We did some hill sprints, and his times were great. His commitment to our saturday class and the mid week runs is really impressive so I'm looking forward to see what happens on race day!!
Will be wonderful to see the whole group this week end :)
